Being involved in the well-being and advancement of one’s own community is the most natural thing to do.
2024/25 Scholarship Programme
The Tara Iti Whānau Charitable Trust Scholarship Programme embodies our commitment to supporting the wider Mangawhai community and families of Tara Iti Golf Club. Inspired by Ric and Suzanne Kayne’s belief in the transformative power of education and sport, the programme promotes resilience, sportsmanship selflessness and provides a foundation for personal and community growth.
Our scholarships offer financial assistance to individuals from diverse backgrounds looking to attend Mangawhai Hills College. Each year, the Trust will award two scholarships providing not only financial aid but also an opportunity for personal development and mentorship.
The ultimate goal of the programme is for recipients to "pay it forward" by giving back to the community and therefore extending our legacy for future generations.
Applications are now open for the 2025 academic year. Closing date: Saturday, 30 November 2024.
These scholarships are designed to support students with a strong commitment to furthering their high school education. Scholarship recipients are provided with financial relief to ease the cost of attending Mangawhai Hills College, allowing them to focus on academic and personal growth, building community connections, and pursuing lifelong dreams.
Each year, the Tara Iti Whānau Trust will award two scholarships of NZD $8,000 per year for two years, totalling NZD $16,000. Recipients may also apply for continued support beyond the initial scholarship period.
